What is trail running?
Trail running is many things to many people. To some people it stands for ultra-running, which in my books is anything longer than a marathon (~26 miles), but usually much longer, for example, 100 mile races. To others, trail running is shorter runs done on trails, around 10-25 km. To me trail running simply means getting off the road and exploring unpaved terrain while running. So get outside, run and leave the road!
Chief Administrator: Jonathan Schmidt
Trail Running Canada was started by Jonathan R. Schmidt in 2008. After surviving the 2007 TransRockies Run, Jonathan decided that there needed to be more resources for trail running and specifically Canadian trail running. After all, Canada has some of the best places in the world to go trail running. You can contact Jonathan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
