This past weekend Cody completed the Bruce Trail end to end, approximately 885km, in record time. The official time has yet to be told, but it’s clear that he surpassed the previous mark of 13 days 10 hours and 51 minutes. Cody Gilles, 22, has set off to better the Bruce Trail end to end record in support of Headwaters Health Care Centre. Cody began the 885km trek on September 25 with a ‘short day’ of 82km. He’s setting out to break Charlotte Vasarhelyi’s record of 13 days 10 hours and 51 minutes set in 2010 (read here for more: http://trailrunner.ca/home/?page_id=920). Unlike Charlotte, Gilles has relatively modest ‘ultra-running’ experience and thus is truly tackling a challenge of stepping into the unknown.
